Overview of Text Messaging

Resova’s text messaging feature allows businesses to efficiently update customers and team members through SMS. This feature is ideal for sending booking confirmations, updates, reminders, and cancellations directly to customers’ phones.

Accessing Text Messaging

To manage and customize text messaging:

  1. Navigate to Settings.
  2. Select Emails & Messaging.
  3. Under the Text Messaging section, you’ll find the following options:
  • Manage Credits
  • Confirmation Messages
  • Rescheduled Messages
  • Cancelled Messages
  • Reminder Messages


Text Messaging Features

1. Manage Credits

  • Purchase SMS credits to enable text messaging for your account. Credits are required to send messages to customers or team members.

2. Confirmation Messages

  • Notify customers when a booking is confirmed. Customize the content to include details such as customer name, business name, and any additional information.

3. Rescheduled Messages

  • Inform customers of any booking changes. Automatically include the updated date, time, and other relevant details.

4. Cancelled Messages

  • Notify customers if their booking has been cancelled. Provide clear information, including the booking reference.

5. Reminder Messages

  • Send automated reminders to customers before their booking. Set the timing for reminders (e.g., hours, days, or weeks before the event) and customize the message.

Customizing Messages

Each text message type includes a Content Editor to personalize the message with placeholders for:

  • Customer Name
  • Booking Reference
  • Event Details
  • Business Name

For example:

  • Confirmation Message: Hi [Customer First Name], thanks for booking with [Business Name]. If you have any questions about your booking, please contact us.
  • Reminder Message: Hi [Customer First Name], just a reminder of your booking with [Business Name] on [Booking Date] at [Booking Time]. We look forward to seeing you!

Setting Reminder Timings

Adjust when reminder messages are sent:

  • Hours before the event
  • Days before the event
  • Weeks before the event

Activating and Deactivating Text Messaging Segments:

Each text messaging segment (Confirmation, Rescheduled, Cancelled, and Reminder messages) can be activated or deactivated based on your business needs:

1. Select the messaging segment you’d like to adjust.

2. Use the Status dropdown in the top-right corner to toggle between:

  • Active: Enables messages for this segment to be sent to customers.
  • Deactivate: Disables messages for this segment temporarily.

This flexibility allows you to pause certain communications while making updates or if they’re not required for a particular time period.

 

Note

Customers must provide a valid phone number to receive text messages. Ensure customer and participant details are accurate for seamless communication.
